Meet Colin Lyons!

Senior Director of Information Services

We’re excited to announce that Colin Lyons has officially stepped into a new role as the Senior Director of Information Services at Comprehensive Healthcare! Many of you may know Colin from his work as our Network Services Manager over the past 11 months, but his career in IT spans over 20 years.

Colin’s journey has taken him from accidental techie to IT consultant to eventually landing leadership positions overseeing IT roles in the organizations he worked for. When Colin and his wife relocated to the Yakima area from Lynwood, he began seeking other career opportunities where he could continue his passion for continuous improvement and learning.

“I always wanted to try my hand at a medical organization,” Colin said. “Now I’m able to apply the experience I’ve gained over the years in ways that really make a difference here.”

When asked what staff can expect to change with his move into the Senior Director role, Colin quickly reassured: “My email inbox is always open. I don’t expect much to change, if anything, in that regard.” Colin emphasized that his approach to communication and collaboration remains the same. He continues to welcome feedback and encourages staff to share any technology-related challenges they may encounter. “We can only make improvements if we’re aware of the problems,” he said. Staying connected with staff is a key part of how his team identifies and addresses opportunities for improvement.

While communication and engagement with Colin will remain relatively unchanged, there are significant developments on the IS horizon that Colin wishes to share with the staff, along with updates on ongoing projects:

  • Network upgrades are nearly complete, with only three sites remaining.
  • Disaster recovery solution testing is up next, ensuring we’re prepared for the unexpected.
  • Multifactor authentication is coming for all staff, which will greatly enhance the security of our systems and protect sensitive information.
  • Windows 11 upgrades are coming soon, including new laptops for many staff members as Windows 10 approaches its end of life.

For Colin, staying ahead of the curve and ensuring we achieve better security, stability, and service is key, especially in a field where technology changes constantly. “Change is inevitable. It’s one of the only constants in life – and in technology, even more so. It’s kind of like climbing a burning rope. We need to keep moving forward to stay ahead of the flames.”

Please join us in congratulating Colin on this well-earned promotion. With his drive for improvement, open-door approach, and strong leadership values, the future of Information Services at Comprehensive Healthcare is in great hands.
