It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we remember the life of Dawn Brumfield, Program Manager for Aspen Victim Advocacy Services in Ellensburg. Dawn’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her colleagues, clients, and community members who were touched by her unwavering dedication, compassion, and leadership. Dawn was a pillar of strength, and her legacy will continue to inspire us all.

Throughout her career, Dawn was a tireless advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Her work with Aspen Victim Advocacy Services was marked by a fierce commitment to justice, healing, and empowerment. Whether coordinating outreach events, mentoring staff, or responding directly to those in crisis, Dawn brought empathy and strength to every interaction.

She played a pivotal role in the community, always ensuring that victim services were visible, accessible, and inclusive. Her leadership extended beyond logistics, she infused each initiative with purpose and heart.

Dawn’s impact was felt not only in her professional achievements but in the relationships she nurtured. “My heart literally aches from the loss of my dear friend and colleague, Dawn Brumfield,” shared Debbie Brockman. “She was my lifeline on bad days, and the first person I called when something good or funny happened. Dawn and I became fast friends the first time we met. She was kind, funny, loyal, mischievous, and I am blessed to have had her in my life. Our strengths complemented each other and we were both better at our jobs because of it. Though Dawn is gone from this world, she will forever be in my heart”
