Ashley KernBishop Shines on National Stage

We’re taking a moment to celebrate one of our own – Ashley KernBishop, Peer Support Counselor on our PACT team, who recently represented Comprehensive Healthcare at the National ACT Peer Panel.

Ashley was selected as one of only two panelists out of more than 250 participants nationwide – a remarkable distinction that speaks to her expertise, lived experience, and the respect she’s earned in the peer support field. During the panel, she represented Washington State in discussions covering some of the most meaningful aspects of peer care: client engagement, supporting individuals experiencing symptoms like hallucinations or delusions, substance use support, and the role of Peer Specialists in team-based care and involuntary treatment processes.

Throughout the panel, Ashley championed the value of lived experience, the power of building genuine rapport, and the importance of peers as equal members of the PACT team. 

“I made sure to share how grateful I am for the strong, cohesive team we have,” Ashley shared, noting that the team received one of the highest fidelity ratings in the state. “SPIRIT Lab even gave us a special round of applause – which was such a proud moment to be part of.”

Director of Yakima Outpatient Services Diego Mendoza expressed his pride in Ashley’s impact: “She is setting standards very high for the entire industry.” And Jodi Daly, PhD, CEO, echoed that sentiment, calling Ashley’s selection “a testament to her dedication, expertise, and leadership” and noting that her influence extends well beyond our organization and into the peer care field as a whole.
